David J. Paulson
David J. Paulson, 75, of Appleton, Minnesota, died on Saturday evening, February 15, 2025, at Sandford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at Zion Lutheran Church of Appleton, Minnesota, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the Appleton Cemetery, Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel of Appleton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
David John Paulson was born on March 20. 1949, in Appleton, Minnesota, the son of Wilbur James and Helen Teresa (Lund) Paulson. He was baptized on July 10, 1949, at Drywood Lutheran Church by Reverend William Petersen and confirmed on October 18, 1964, at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton by Reverend B. Odegard. He graduated from Appleton High School then attended Willmar Vo-Tech for two years. On September 16, 1969, David enlisted in the United States Army, serving our country during the Vietnam War until August 5, 1971, and was a member of the National Guard from August of 1971 until August of 1972.
David enjoyed woodworking and was a carpenter in Appleton and Hollway. He worked at service stations and did some painting and lawn mowing throughout the area. He loved to sing and was a member of the Drywood Lutheran Church Choir. He sang and entertained with his friends in the group “Just Us.” David was called from this life on Saturday evening, February 15, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota. He attained the age of 75 years, 10 months, and 26 days.
David is survived by his brother Mark (special friend Kitt Olson) of Appleton; his nephew Allen (Bre) Paulson of Big Lake; grandnieces and grandnephews: Brooke, Gavin, Isabella, and Carter Paulson of Willmar; cousins Pat and Richard Ballman, of Illinois, Debbie Lund of Florida, Merle Hanson and JoAnn Hanson of Westbrook, and Lois and Art Kunde of Morris; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Helen Paulson, grandparents Clara and Edwin Lund and Annie and John Paulson, sister Kathryn Paulson, aunts, uncles, and his favorite dog Jackie.
